I broke it down for some of my supporters recently. Here are the 3 key things we need to do to defeat Kevin McCarthy:
1️⃣ Hold him accountable. With some of CA's poorest counties in our district, we need a voice in Congress who actually delivers for our communities, not special interest backers. With McCarthy's reputation in tatters, he's practically powerless to help us.
2️⃣ Activate new voters. I may be an English teacher, but the math is clear: this district has a damning voter turnout history. We can't blame our neighbors. Instead we need to chart a positive course forward and give people something to vote FOR, not just vote against.
3️⃣ Raise grassroots resources. This is a people-powered campaign. That's why I can unabashedly advocate for the kinds of families I see at school every week. Kevin McCarthy is one of Congress's top recipients of corporate special interest money. When it comes time to pass laws, he looks out for them, not us.

Marisa knows that this district – and all of its families – deserve someone fighting for them in Washington, not a career politician who cares about his rich donors and fighting partisan battles.
