| John, As Native American Heritage Month comes to a close, Voices for Public Transit honors the rich culture, history, and achievements of Native American communities across the country. This month and every month are an opportunity to reflect on the perseverance of Indigenous peoples and support initiatives to ensure Tribal heritage thrives now and in the future. Recently, the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration announced $9.9 million in grants to improve public transit systems for 22 American Indian Tribes and Alaska Native communities. These grants will fund the purchase of transit vehicles, update bus facilities, and expand transit options. You can read more about the impact of these grants in our latest blog. | As the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act continues to deliver for the nation, grants such as the Tribal Transit Program will be key to creating more accessible, fair, and equitable public transit systems for communities of all sizes. Access to robust public transportation connects our communities to greater social and economic resources, helping to advance equity for future generations. As Voices for Public Transit, it’s critical that we continue to raise our voices in support of public transit investment. Together, we can create a brighter, more equitable future for all.
