Friend,
Once the steel capital of the West, Pueblo powered our state and our country for decades. But like many American cities, Pueblo paid the price for a 40-year Washington consensus that stretches back to Ronald Reagan.
It's easy to summarize: National Republicans cut taxes for the wealthiest Americans and corporations, which slashed investments in the American people, and companies shipped our supply chains and jobs overseas.
Americans have rejected this agenda, and we’ve begun to chart a new course.
We passed the Inflation Reduction Act – the most significant climate legislation that any country on the planet has ever passed.
Unfortunately, not every leader in Colorado supports this progress. Lauren Boebert voted against the Inflation Reduction Act — the law that’s bringing hundreds of good-paying jobs to her district.
Because of this bill, the United States is better positioned than any country in the world to lead the global transition to clean energy. And there is no state in America better positioned to lead the country in our transition than Colorado.
Yesterday, President Biden toured CS Wind in Colorado, the world's largest manufacturing plant for wind turbines, which plans to expand as a result of the Inflation Reduction Act. This expansion will create over 800 new good-paying jobs in Pueblo.
