Trump is once again looking at ways to strip healthcare away from Americans when they need it most. I voted for the Affordable Care Act nearly 15 years ago. Thanks to Obamacare, you can no longer be denied health insurance because of a pre-existing condition, you're not worried about leaving your job and losing insurance, your kids can stay on your plan until they're 26, and tens of millions of Americans now have access to affordable health care.
Donald Trump considers that a failure and is committed to repealing the ACA if he wins in 2024. Over the weekend, Trump went on his personal social media site to make it clear what's at stake this election. Make no mistake, whatever Trump says about having a cheaper, better alternative is a lie. Simply put, Trump and the GOP don't have an alternative plan and never will.
As long as I'm in Congress, I'll fight to improve Obamacare by adding a public option and increasing subsidies to make it even more affordable. But if Trump wins and Republicans win the Senate, this time there's nothing to stop them from taking away access to health insurance for tens of millions of Americans.
We can't let that happen. We want to build on the momentum of our recent election wins here in Virginia, and now is an important time to make budgetary decisions for the 2024 cycle. It's the last day of November and we're about to start making the hard budget decisions about what kind of campaign we can afford next year. Can you help us by donating what you can today?
Thanks,
Gerry
