Among all of the drastic, radical policies of Joe Biden and the leftist Democrats on Capitol Hill is the Biden Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) overzealous new goal of forcing two-thirds of cars on America’s roads to be electronic vehicles (EV) by the end of the decade. 

Friend, it’s fine if consumers wish to purchase EVs, but disincentivizing the use of gasoline powered vehicles is just another huge burden for Americans -- particularly our hard-working families. 

Due to the disastrous effects of “Bidenomics” and purposely undermining domestic energy production, Americans already face higher prices at the gas pump and grocery store, but are also paying more than their fair share for roads and transportation infrastructure maintenance as well. 

That’s because the owners of EVs -- which can weigh three times as much as conventional vehicles due to their exceedingly heavy batteries and cause greater wear and tear on road surfaces -- are exempted from taxes at sale and during charging, while gasoline vehicle users pick up the extra expense. 

Electric vehicle drivers and manufacturers don’t do their part to maintain our roads -- that’s unfair to other drivers and bad for America’s highways.

Under my legislation, the Stop EV Freeloading Act, EVs would contribute to the Highway Trust Fund just like other vehicles -- to ensure that ALL vehicle operators on our roads must support their maintenance -- not just those who have the resources to buy and drive expensive so-called “green” EVs.
