Friend,

As we near the end of the year, we’re looking back at our hard work on DACA, the challenges we faced, and the wins we celebrated over the last 11 months. Even as we look back, we’re also looking forward. Right now, the news is full of stories about what the forces of hatred plan to do next in their cruel and relentless fight against vulnerable immigrant families.

We are extending our profound gratitude to you for making everything we do at NILC possible. It’s an honor to fight alongside dedicated supporters like you as we work to uplift and protect immigrant communities.

You’ve helped us cover quite a lot of ground this year, friend.

In Long Beach, Nashville, and Atlanta, we collaborated with partners to organize successful events under our Freedom to Thrive initiative. These gatherings brought members of our immigrant community together to have their photos taken and share their stories of joy, resilience, and perseverance.

On the 11th anniversary of DACA’s implementation and throughout the year, you joined supporters in strengthening our persistent calls to Congress to pass permanent protections for immigrant youth.

Together, we have amassed over 45,000 actions this year alone — from calling on the Biden administration to address the ongoing harm caused by the now-rescinded Trump era Muslim and African Bans, to urging the administration to abandon its inhumane and illegal efforts to obstruct asylum access.

So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all you’ve done to make this year’s achievements and more possible. With your support, we’ve been able to make real progress and build on the transformational work we’ve done to fight for justice and equality for decades. Your generosity has been vital to our success, and we're so grateful for your support.

Of course, every year of success reveals just how much further we have to go for all immigrant families next year and beyond.

There’s no easy way to put this: 2024 will be the most challenging year in our more than four-decade history.

We know that the demagogues of hatred are planning a new front in their cruel and relentless war against low-income immigrant families: they have shared their plans to attack the very organizations that help these vulnerable families get a fair break. As you can imagine, NILC is at the top of their list because of our long track record of winning for low-income immigrant families.

Know that every single member of the NILC family is up for this fight — and we are so grateful for your support.

As we head into the holiday season, we wish you and your loved ones the happiest and healthiest celebrations.
