Ponca State Park in Holiday Passport program
Did you know? The Nebraska Passport Program is holding a mini-Passport over the holidays, and Ponca State Park is one of the 20 unique stops.
In winter, Ponca State Park is full of opportunities. Cozy up in a comfortable mini lodge or cabin, and then take a scenic hike through 22 miles of forested trails, viewing wildlife along the way. And when the weather is right, enjoy ice fishing, sledding and groomed cross-country skiing trails.

Begin purchasing 2024 permits now; consider making it a gift!
During the busy holiday season, don?t forget to purchase Nebraska Game and Parks permits for the upcoming year ? for yourself or as a holiday gift (or both!). The 2024 annual hunt (small game), fishing, fur harvest and state park entry permits are now available online, at district offices and parks near you.

Firearm deer harvest down 18% statewide
Preliminary results from the 2023 Nebraska November firearm deer season show statewide harvest was down 18% from 2022 and down 29% from the 2018-2022 average. Nebraska Game and Parks expected these results based on several factors that indicated a decline in harvest was coming.?
