Folks, I just have to show you this:

This is an invitation to a fundraiser for newly-elected Speaker Mike Johnson in DC tonight, and it’s headlined by right-wing lobbyists and a who’s who of extremist Republicans, including:

• Jim Jordan, a MAGA extremist who helped craft Donald Trump’s Big Lie and voted against certifying the 2020 election,
• James Comer, who is leading the sham impeachment inquiry of President Biden,
• And Richard Hudson, chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

It’s not surprising to me to see that the most radical members of the House Republican caucus are teaming up to fundraise for anti-abortion Speaker Johnson. After all, we’re less than a year out from the 2024 election.

But what stands out to me most is the eye-popping prices — because it means that Speaker Johnson will raise millions of dollars tonight alone.

Look, I know how hard each and every one of you work. I’m honored when folks on this team chip in to support my campaign, no matter how much you choose to give. I take real pride in the fact that our work is sustained by grassroots donations from everyday folks across the country.

So when I say that we’re going to have to fight twice as hard to overcome national Republicans’ massive war chest, this is what I mean.
