Stay informed about flood risks

Flooding graphic

We are now in peak season for conditions that can bring flooding to area rivers and streams. The National Weather Service is forecasting that the days ahead will bring heavy snows to the mountains, followed by rain, and the potential for rising rivers. This time of year, it pays to regularly visit the flood page on the Snohomish County Public Safety Hub for quick access to key resources, including real-time river gauges, interactive maps, alerts and other tools. https://bit.ly/snocoflooding

Flood guide brims with information

Each year we join our partners at Snohomish County in compiling a comprehensive guide to flood-related information and online tools that can help before, during and after high water. Learn more.

Drones play role in flood prep

We took to the sky as part of our preparation for flood season this year. We used one of our DJI Matrice 300 uncrewed aerial systems ? more commonly called a drone ? to capture images of bridges and other locations along the Mountain Loop Highway bordering the South Fork Stillaguamish River. The mission was in support of the county?s Department of Public Works, which wanted to better document conditions along the river before high water?s arrival. More here.
