Multiple people running for U.S. Senate and other Congressional seats in
Michigan have said they’ve been offered between $10 and $20 million to run
against me.

As the only Palestinian American in Congress, I will not be bullied. This
attempt to intimidate me will never silence me in saving as many lives as
possible, no matter faith or ethnicity.

I keep thinking about the three Palestinian students in Vermont, whose
mere existence was seen as a threat by someone who decided to open fire.
Hisham, one of the survivors of the shooting, is right when he said: “This
hideous crime did not happen in a vacuum.”

Silencing the voices of Palestinians and all oppressed people is something
that the political establishment has done for decades. We are saying
enough.

Amidst the painful dehumanizing of Palestinians and hate in the United
States towards our communities (especially those speaking out for a
ceasefire), we must be heard and represented in our government. I will not
let extremists who believe in wiping out as many Palestinians as possible
undermine the democratic will of the American people, the vast majority of
whom support a permanent ceasefire.
