My heart is still breaking for all the families in El Paso, Dayton, Gilroy, and all across the country devastated by gun violence. I cannot imagine the horrible pain of losing a loved one at the hands of something so preventable.
Because it IS preventable.
Background checks save lives. Getting military-grade weapons off our streets saves lives. Common-sense gun safety reform saves lives.
I’m working hard in Washington to fight back against Republican stonewalling and make sure the gun reform measures we need become law. Especially in honor of my hometown, El Paso.
Our country is experiencing such trauma right now. Three mass shootings in a little over a week takes a toll on people. But together, we are compassionate, strong, and resilient.
