In Practitioner Performance Advice’s latest Insights on Medical and Dental Performers List suspensions in England and Wales, we found the majority of suspension cases concluded with practitioners retaining their inclusion on the Performers List. [[link removed]] Publication of annual statistics and Factsheet 5 [[link removed]]
Last month we published our annual data relating to NHS Resolution claims, including Factsheet 5, updated to cover the period to 2022-23. [[link removed]] Case of note: Anna Callaghan v. South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (High Court, 19 May 2023 – Ellenbogen J.) [[link removed]]
In this case, involving the death of a week-old baby from Group B streptococcus bacterial meningitis and septicaemia, the court considered allegations of negligence centred around midwifery care and alleged premature discharge from hospital. Read more [[link removed]].
Primary Care Appeals supports ICBs [[link removed]]
As integrated care boards (ICBs) embed and assume primary care commissioning functions, our Primary Care Appeals service is the appellate body with responsibility for the fair resolution of appeals and disputes regarding ICB decisions. This month, the service emailed all ICB primary care (commissioning) leads to outline its role and its relevance to the work of ICBs. This includes running workshops for pharmacy, dental and medical commissioning teams. Find out more [[link removed]].

This month we updated our video introduction to our Primary Care Appeals service. Our new 7-minute video provides an accessible overview of the service and its work delivering fair resolution of disputes referred to it under the NHS dispute resolution procedure.
