John, it's Coach Kerr again. I'll keep this short. I wanted to make sure that you saw my email from yesterday.

The solutions to end gun violence are right in front of us. But inaction has prevented us from doing the right thing even after tragedies like the shooting at Uvalde last year. It's embarrassing. It's infuriating. And it's downright pathetic.

It's up to all of us to take on the fight against gun violence. It's up to all of us to fight for the kids terrified that they'll be shot in their classrooms. It's up to all of us to end this needless violence. Brady is all in on this fight. I'm all in. And I need you to be all in, too.

That's why I'm reaching out again. A group of generous donors has agreed to extend our Giving Tuesday Match until midnight tonight! I wanted to make sure you had a chance to make a matched gift to Brady to end gun violence and save lives.

Your support today would mean so much to me and the whole team at Brady.

With gratitude,

Steve Kerr

John, today is Giving Tuesday — and we urgently need your help. It's one of the most important days for organizations like Brady to fund their fight to end gun violence.

This is our chance to make sure that we have the resources we need to continue Brady's life-saving work in 2024. That's why a group of generous donors has agreed to match every single dollar donated up to our $400,000 goal. Please, John, will you step up this Giving Tuesday by donating to help Brady end gun violence and defeat the NRA? This match expires at 11:59 p.m. tonight, so don't wait to make your gift!

When 19 children and two teachers were slaughtered with an assault weapon at Uvalde Elementary School last year, I thought of the 21 families that would never be the same again. The families that would have to face a new reality without their child or their loved one, a reality that no one should have to face but that far too many have. I still think of them, even after their city’s name fell from headlines.

That’s always the first thought in my mind after I hear about a shooting, the people. Because my family were those people once, standing against the waves of emotions crashing down – my father was shot and killed when I was just a teenager and that is a grief I still feel to this day. It’s because I know these emotions well that I want to stop the next family from experiencing the same kind of tragedy.

Because the unfortunate truth is that gun violence could affect any of us. But just as true is that we can change our reality if we work together.

This movement is about people: The people we have lost to senseless violence, the people who grieve their loved ones, the people we can save, and the people who can make a difference – people like you, John. So I’m counting on you to join me in taking action to end the gun violence epidemic today:

Brady’s is a people-powered movement, they rely on grassroots donors to fund their lifesaving work to ban assault weapons and pass other common sense, life-saving reforms that families have spent decades calling for. And trust me, with your support, the team at Brady are the folks who will get the job done. So please, John, will you make a matched gift before midnight tonight? This Giving Tuesday goal is so critical, and we can only hit it with your help.
