John,

I won’t sugarcoat it: our democracy is in danger. Trump is leading the polls, MAGA Republicans control Congress and Democrats are in real trouble of losing more competitive seats like mine.

As someone who has won some of the closest and most expensive races in the country even when experts predicted I would lose, I have a message for my fellow Democrats: we have to get organized NOW to fight back against Trump and the MAGA wave.

That’s why I’m asking you to please send in the biggest donation you can to help us keep California’s most competitive seat blue!

Here’s my advice going into the next election:

1. We can’t wait until Republicans start attacking us to get out our message. If we’re going to win over undecided voters, we have to spread a positive vision about what our values are before Republicans define us.


2. We can’t wait until a few months before the election to register voters and knock on doors. That’s why our team is already on the ground registering voters - because when someone is registered to vote, they are much more likely to actually cast a ballot.


3. We can’t wait for Super PACs to start flooding the airwaves with attack ads. We know the GOP attacks are coming, so we have to be prepared with real resources to fight back. Since I don’t take corporate PAC money, I’m relying on your help with this part.

I truly believe that if Democrats heed this advice in our most competitive districts, we can build another Blue Wave to take back the House - just like we did in 2018! But it’s going to require your support now, not later.
