Alyse’s campaign manager here.

We’ve had such a great response to our first few weeks on the campaign trail, and I can’t thank you enough for that! I’m so grateful that you are as excited about this campaign’s start as I am.

As we begin to travel around our great state, we have been asked a common question — what are we doing differently from our 2018 campaign to make sure we finally retire Don Young?

Well, it’s my job to figure out how we’ll win, and so I wanted to report on our plan to make this win happen.

We conducted a survey of many of our supporters from 2018 to find out how we can do better. Over 1,100 people responded, from every part of Alaska, and from people of all walks of life. And while the answers varied greatly, there were some clear themes in the responses.

Alaskans want us to focus on three things:

1. New voter outreach.
2. Articulate clear policy platforms, focusing in areas where we have room to grow more votes.
3. VVoter contact through a robust field and canvassing program that includes expert volunteer training.

With these insights, we know where we’re going to be focusing our resources in the coming months. Reaching new voters is going to be our top priority, and it will ultimately be the way we retire Don Young.

We’ll do that through a grassroots, targeted statewide field program. Alyse is also going to travel around the state, listening to Alaskans, and honing her skills for the fight at the debates next year.

We won’t be able to do any of that without your support, though. It’s going to take a massive grassroots effort to fund the kind of campaign that our supporters want us to run (and that we want to run, too!).
