Tom is the proud husband to Rhonda and the proud father to two beautiful daughters. Their family resides in the wonderful city of Westfield, New Jersey.
Tom's commitment to the people of New Jersey has been inspired by a legacy of dedicated public service from his grandfather, former U.S. Representative Robert Kean, to his father, former Governor Thomas H. Kean Sr. Kean has always understood and recognized the importance of civic engagement and is honored to represent the people of New Jersey's 7th Congressional District in Congress.
From his early days in the Environmental Protection Agency during the George H.W. Bush Administration (where he met his incredible wife Rhonda), to serving as a volunteer firefighter and an emergency medical technician in Washington, D.C. — Tom has always had a heart for making our world a better, freer, safer place.
Determined to answer the call to public service again, Tom Kean Jr. believed he, personally, could turn ideas into action and make a lasting difference in people’s lives. In 2001, Tom was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly, and two years later, was named to the upper house of the state legislature after his tireless work in ethics reform.
Then in 2008, his peers unanimously elected him Republican Leader in the New Jersey Senate. Shortly thereafter, he unveiled his caucus’ job creation package, “Common-Sense Plan for a More Affordable New Jersey,” which ultimately reversed the course that previous administrations were quickly leading the state down.
To this day, Tom continues to build upon his proven track record of delivering for the people of New Jersey in Congress:
- Passed legislation advocating for Veteran-Owned small businesses
- Passed legislation to improve commuter rail transportation
- Passed a resolution affirming strong US support for Ukraine
- Passed legislation to support mental health for school children
And with your continued support today, Tom Kean will be able to defeat Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked opponents that want to take the House Majority in 2024.
We cannot let this happen.
