Hi Friend,
In case you missed Jordan’s email below, it
is critical we get to work to fix New Zealand.
As someone deeply involved in politics, I've been telling
Jordan and the team that without immediate action, the bureaucracy
will regroup, and gum up even the best of intentions of
Ministers.
In fact, even the next few weeks are make and break. We
need to ensure the last government's policies are rolled back before
the bureaucracy and so-called "Spads" (special advisers) are put in
place around the Ministers. 'Spads' and the whole Beehive apparatus
are designed to keep away those people who don't toe the line of the
bureaucracy.
So
it is crucial, Friend, that we stand together to counteract the media
and bureaucratic forces already working to undermine the new
government and create obstacles to reversing the damage of the past
six years.
Case in point: Did you see the news about the NZ on Air
board member, who was caught abusing the new Government and calling
them a “gang of thugs”? While expressing the views publicly was
rightfully called out, we all know that many others in positions of
power throughout the bureaucracy share similar sentiments
behind closed doors. That
is who we are up against!
These people are fundamentally out of touch with the rest
of the country, they are the ones who push co-governance, and advocate
for a centralised ‘government-knows-best’ approach. We both know that
they will do anything to maintain the status quo. That's
why we need the Taxpayers' Union to keep up the
pressure.
Friend, I founded the Taxpayers’ Union to stand up for
taxpayers against the lobby groups, bureaucrats and lackeys calling
for ever bigger government. These groups are now crying louder than
ever opposing Christopher Luxon, David Seymour and Winston Peters.
That’s
why the Taxpayers’ Union needs your support to provide a voice for the
taxpayers who pay the bills.
Friend, we can’t let the bureaucracy swallow the
government and bed-in bad policy. Will
you join me in chipping in to support Jordan and the rest of the
Taxpayers’ Union team to continue to apply the
pressure?
>> Yes, I 'll chip in <<
Your
support means the team can keep the pressure on when it matters the
most – rather than wasting time worrying about fundraising and keeping
the lights on,
Thank you for your support.

Union.

Subject: There is no time to waste,
Dear Friend,
With the new Government sworn in this morning, now is our final
chance to ensure that Nanaia Mahuta’s Three Waters is scrapped, and
New Zealand is put on a path to a more prosperous future.
We need to ensure no time is lost to recommit New Zealand to
accountable and democratic control of public assets
once
and for all.
Friend, until the
legislation is actually passed and we’ve ensured there is no last
minute devil in the detail, the job of the Taxpayers’ Union
is not done. That’s
why I’m asking all our most loyal supporters like you to back the
Taxpayers’ Union and get this over the
line.
Luxon, Seymour, and Peters
cannot do it alone
Christopher Luxon,
David Seymour, and Winston Peters are up against armies of bureaucrats
and vested interests who are determined to keep the most damaging
components of the last government’s agenda
in-place. That’s why I’m asking for your support today
– to
make sure there is a voice to ensure the new Government
delivers.
You only need look at the way the Department of Internal
Affairs officials were caught secretly signing up to Three Waters
deals even after the election to make it harder for the new
Government to unwind Nanaia Mahuta’s toxic policies. It’s
that sort of skulduggery we need to ensure does not fend off even the
best intentions in the new Government.
Finally, we have a
favourable government in place, but they are only human. Before the
new Government are ground down by the ‘Wellington blob’, bureaucracy,
and the shrilling media let’s
get the job done.
We
cannot let this once in a generation opportunity be
missed
The Taxpayers’ Union survives on contributions from New
Zealanders like you. While it’s easy to breathe a sigh of relief with
that election result, the short point is that now is not the time to
rest easy. The
next few months are absolutely vital if we are to achieve what we have
worked so hard to convince the public of in recent years.
Arguably,
dollar-for-dollar, the behind the scenes policy work over the next six
to twelve months is likely to be the best value for money since we
were launched ten years ago. But
that won't happen unless we can raise sufficient support to keep the
heat on Wellington.
So if you agree with Scrapping Three Waters; replacing the Resource
Management Act; reining-in the costs of Wellington; demanding more
accountability/democracy (and less race-based government!), I
urge you that now is the time to support the Taxpayers’ Union
to ensure this opportunity is not lost.
Without a strong Taxpayers’ Union, we leave it open for
the left-wing media, and the left-wing officials to screw the scrum,
yet again. Let’s
not let it happen.
You can't save the world if you can’t keep the
lights on
Whether it be drafting parliamentary bills to improve local
government, removing race-based privilege, demanding political
neutrality within government agencies, or finishing the legal work on
the Three Waters replacement, we need you to help us, to make
these things happen. In
short, we are counting on your support today.
