Don't miss our annual winter supporter meeting in Ely on Sunday, December 10 at the Ely Folk School from 10 a.m - 12 p.m! Hear the latest about the conservation work we lead locally and nationally to protect the Boundary Waters forever, for everyone, plus hear from special guest speakers on the vital connection between access and conservation. Speakers include Ingrid Lyons, Executive Director of the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters, Megan Parkinson, the Minnesota Regional Program Manager with Big City Mountaineers, M Baxley, storyteller and founder of Bear Witness Media, and David Hicks, a Marine Corps veteran and owns and guides with Cast Outdoor Adventures.

Plus, make it a weekend because there are MANY fun events happening the weekend of December 9 & 10 in Ely:
Saturday morning : start your day on Saturday with the Chamber of Commerce Mrs. Claus Holiday Party for Kids at the Grand Ely Lodge. This event is scheduled from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. There will be hot cocoa, cookies, face painting, and crafts. Perhaps even Santa will make an appearance!
Saturday afternoon: head to Semers Park on Shagawa Lake for the Ely Folk School Winter Bonfire, which takes place from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. There will be free homemade apple hand pies, as well as free dog sled rides provided by Wintergreen Dog Sled Lodge.
Saturday night: wrap up an especially festive Saturday by attending Christmas at the State: Hometown Holiday Concert at Ely’s Historic State Theater at 7:00 pm. This is a Christmas concert provided by a local choir.
Sunday night : there will be a Reflections Dance Company Winter Showcase at the Vermilion Theater at 7:00 pm. You can learn more about Reflections Dance Company by listening to episode 1 of the What’s Up Ely Podcast [[link removed]] which features Molly Olson, the founder and director of the dance company.
