The people of Ohio spoke loud and clear this month: abortion bans have no place in the Buckeye State. After every attempt to silence voters' voices — from deliberately placing confusing language on the ballot to attempting to increase the voter threshold — on November 7, voters were clear that decisions about our bodies and health belong to the people — not politicians.
The high voter turnout and strong support for abortion rights in Ohio are similar to what has occurred in every state that has voted on this issue since Roe fell. Abortion has won in all seven states — and that's a foreshadowing of what’s to come next year across the country.
That's why we are gearing up for an eruption next year: young people are uniting to create a powerful surge so that lawmakers lift barriers to abortion and end laws that target our ability to thrive. We are building the infrastructure for young advocates to lead the movement, fostering young people power, and forging a path for justice and liberation.
