Whether you’re from North Dakota or live elsewhere in the greatest country in the world, we’re glad you’re here. Every day, I wake up and am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to serve the citizens of North Dakota, where we empower people, improve lives, and inspire success.
In the tiny North Dakota town where I was raised, ‘woke’ was what you did at 5:00 AM to start the day. An entrepreneur at a young age, I started a shoeshine business, worked at the grain elevator, and as a chimney sweep to pave my way through college.
We ignored those who said North Dakota was too small, too cold, and too remote to build a world-class software company. I literally ‘bet the farm’ to help build a tiny startup into a billion-dollar company with customers in 132 countries.
Everyone said a kid from small-town North Dakota couldn’t achieve that kind of success, but that’s America - the land of opportunity!
Under my leadership, North Dakota has become a leader in innovation - creating a boom across the energy, agriculture, and technology sectors. In my first year as Governor, we inherited a $1.7 billion budget shortfall. Yet, we balanced the budget by cutting spending and enacted the largest tax cut in North Dakota history!
As the only Presidential Candidate who is the Governor of one of the largest energy-producing states in America, we understand the future is going to be won at the intersection of innovation and energy. North Dakota produces more energy than most OPEC nations, and we’re more than ready to get American energy independence back on track.
We recognize the real threats to America. Our enemies aren’t our neighbors down the street. Our enemies are countries who want to see our way of life destroyed. This starts with securing our southern border.
In August of this year, we visited North Dakota National Guard soldiers serving along the U.S.-Mexico border in Texas to thank them for their work to support efforts by state and federal officials to secure the border, stop illegal immigration and interdict drug and human trafficking.
In North Dakota, we listen with respect, and we talk things out. That’s how we’ll get America back on track! It’ll work, and in that tiny town where I grew up, you didn’t promise things you couldn’t deliver.
