Dear Friends and Supporters,
I am truly humbled by the support we received yesterday. It is days like this that remind me why we are able to be so successful in our mission. However, since our work isn’t finished, neither is our Giving Tuesday campaign. Our matching donor has agreed to extend their generosity until tonight and will still match every gift we receive, dollar-for-dollar, up to $1 million. ([link removed]) Your generosity funds our projects, such as my article published in Newsweek ([link removed]) yesterday about the tragic effects of legalization to so many communities.
Children are being harmed by bad drug policy. ([link removed]) Among children younger than 6 years old, there is a shocking 1,375 percent increase ([link removed]) in cases of accidental ingestion of edible marijuana products between 2017 and 2021.
Our roads and communities are less safe due to bad drug policy. ([link removed]) In Colorado, traffic fatalities involving marijuana have DOUBLED ([link removed]) since legalization took hold.
Tragic incidents like this should never take place and are the result of corporate interests and the marijuana industry placing profits over public health.
With this extended Giving Tuesday campaign, I am asking for you to show your support for our work and make a gift now. Together, we can place the health and safety of communities, families and children over the profits of Big Marijuana.
Give to the work of SAM ([link removed])
Remember, every gift you make today is matched dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million. ([link removed]) Every single gift will get us closer to our goal. Please join us.
Regards,
Dr. Kevin Sabet
