Greetings from Arizona!

I am so happy to be back home in the great state of Arizona. I am especially grateful to represent the Eighth Congressional District, home to so many veterans and Purple Heart recipients. Today is Purple Heart Day. It is a reminder that freedom is never free, and that many Americans were wounded on the battlefield or made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom. I want to sincerely thank the brave men and women, past and present, who have made immeasurable sacrifices to protect our nation and our way of life.

Women's Entrepreneurship Roundtable

I recently hosted Arizona women entrepreneurs in my office for a roundtable discussion to learn more about their businesses and the impact they make in our community. In my role in Congress and as the co-chair of the Bipartisan Women's Caucus, I will continue to support women’s entrepreneurship here in Arizona and across the nation.

110 New Jobs in the West Valley

Some big news for AZ-08! Microsoft is bringing three new data centers to Goodyear and El Mirage. This will create 110 new jobs in our area! I joined Governor Doug Ducey, Mayor Georgia Lord of Goodyear, Mayor Alexis Hermosillo of El Mirage, and others for the announcement in Tempe.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted my office because she never received her tax return despite having completed her taxes in January. My office reached out to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and they initiated a search to make sure the check was not cashed. After the required time elapsed, a new case was opened on their end to get the funds returned to the Treasury Department so a new check could be issued. After my office contacted the IRS, the constituent finally received her tax return!

Congressional App Challenge

Calling all middle and high school students! The AZ-08 Congressional App Challenge, a competition designed to encourage student participation in computer science and coding, is officially open.
