Four years ago, a young man walked into Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Charleston, South Carolina, attended a bible study for almost one hour, then pulled out a gun and murdered nine worshippers.

In the aftermath, America started a conversation about the nexus between our epidemic levels of gun violence and the dark history of racism and xenophobia in our country.

We never finished that conversation.

This weekend's shooting in El Paso demands we must.

In the days ahead, we will pressure the Senate to return from August Recess to vote on legislation like universal background checks.

And what we're asking is for your help to keep up the pressure on Mitch McConnell to take action. Because Gabby cannot do it alone:
