We are writing you all with an urgent appeal for support for our brothers and sisters in the San Carlos Apache tribe and the Apache Stronghold. They have been in a decade-long fight to stop Resolution Copper from taking possession and destroying a deeply holy site, Oak Flat, or as they call it in Apache,  Chich’il Bildagoteel.

Wendsler and Vanessa Nosie are currently in Washington DC along with other leaders from the Apache Stronghold, They have a hearing with the Congressional Committee on Natural Resources this Thursday, which may represent the final chance to halt the mining of Oak Flat. Rev. Barber is planning to be in this hearing and lend his support as a religious leader.

There will also be a rally TODAY, Wednesday, March 11, at 2pm on the SE Corner of the Capitol Grounds. We are asking all of you to try and spread the word about this struggle through your social media and other networks. And if you are able to join the rally or encourage folks you know in DC to come out please do that as well.

As the country responds to the spread of this virus we are seeing how damaged the system is and how it cares far more about protecting the stock market than the lives of our people. The fight to protect the sacred site of Oak Flat is a fight for a different way of relating to each other and the Earth, a way that cares deeply for all life. It is a fight that is at the center of our Campaign and movement.

Please consider helping us spread the word and showing up for the Apache.

Everybody has a right to live!
