Hello John,

On Monday it was an honour and a privilege to be sworn in as New Zealand’s 42nd Prime Minister, along with the members of my Cabinet in our new coalition government between National, ACT and NZ First.

Our Government is starting the way we mean to go on – ambitious for New Zealand.

That’s why today I was excited to set out the Coalition Government’s plan for its first 100 days from today.

Our plan sets out 49 key actions to get our country back on track, including:

- Removing the Auckland Regional Fuel Tax

- Removing the ‘Ute Tax’

- Focusing the Reserve Bank solely on price stability

- Stopping blanket speed limit reductions

- Introducing legislation to repeal Three Waters

- Banning gang patches

- Requiring schools to teach an hour each of reading, writing and maths per day starting in 2024

- Banning the use of cellphones in class

- Setting five major targets for better health outcomes

Our 100 day plan will set the foundations for the next three years.

It is focused on rebuilding the economy, easing the cost of living, restoring law and order and delivering better public services.

These are the things New Zealanders voted for and expect us to deliver.

We will be a government that gets things done for all New Zealanders and we’re starting straight away. I cannot wait to get stuck in.

Best wishes,

Chris Luxon
