Our work at Muslim Advocates revolves around the law, policy and advocacy, but in the end, it all depends on trust, it depends on partnerships and it depends on you. On this Giving Tuesday, your support is critically important to our mission of defending, supporting and empowering Muslim communities across the U.S. and building shared well-being for everyone.
Right now, to advance the domestic movement for the human rights of Palestinians, we’re representing student activists who are being targeted because of their protests against the bombardment of Gaza and the occupation of Palestine. To fight the inhumanity of American prisons, we’re working to defend the rights of incarcerated Muslims and arming advocates with resources about religious freedom policies in prisons across all 50 states. We’re also fighting the inhumanity of the immigration enforcement system through two lawsuits: one is a putative class action representing the thousands of people denied visa waivers under the Muslim Ban and the other seeks transparency about the discriminatory, process-free regime governing the detention of Afghan refugees.
We’re taking on entrenched systems and institutions that have vastly more resources than we do.
