John,

On February 14, 2018, my daughter Jaime was murdered in her own high school in Parkland, Florida. Her life was senselessly taken by a mass shooter who never should have had access to a gun in the first place.

Jaime's death left me devastated and enraged. Knowing that I will never make new memories with my daughter — never watch her graduate, never hear her voice as she tells me about her day again, never see her grow into the confident and intelligent woman I knew she was going to be — broke me.

I knew I had to do something to ensure no other family had to endure the devastating pain my family went through. That's why, in the memory of my daughter, I've dedicated my life to stopping gun violence and supporting candidates who WILL fight for the lives of our communities.

It's how I maintain hope for a better tomorrow and why I’m supporting Dr. Brian Williams in his run for Congress. Will you join me by contributing to his campaign now? >> [link removed]

As an Air Force Officer, Brian trained with weapons of war, and he knows they have no place in our communities. As a trauma surgeon, he's seen what these guns do to bodies, and he's running for Congress because the crisis is only getting worse.

The terrible reality is that gun violence has become the norm in America today. Working in the trauma bay, Brian treated the never-ending flow of gun violence victims, and he has had to tell far too many parents that their children had died from gun violence. Every year, there are hundreds of mass shootings, and thousands die due to gun violence. But it doesn't have to be this way.

The current gun violence epidemic is a direct result of decades of inaction from gun extremist lawmakers who put guns over the lives of people, including my daughter. Now more than ever, we need leaders who are ready to deal with the reality of gun violence — leaders like Dr. Brian Williams.

Real change is possible when we have leaders in office with the frontline experience and are bold enough to take courageous action. I really do remain hopeful that the days of the gun violence crisis are numbered because of the great people I have had the good fortune of meeting — and Brian is one of them.

Dr. Brian Williams is ready to go to Washington to end the gun violence crisis that has ripped families like my own apart. Will you make a donation to his campaign? Chip in $5, or any amount, today to help elect Dr. Brian Williams for TX-32. We can’t bring Jaime back, but we can prevent more lives from being senselessly taken away. >> [link removed]

Thanks for your time,

Fred Guttenberg
