A few reminders to keep you and your loved ones healthy:

Hi, everyone,

On Monday, Gov. Phil Murphy issued a State of Emergency here in New Jersey in response to coronavirus (COVID-19).

While risk still remains low, I urge New Jersey residents and those across the country to take this public health crisis seriously. My priority remains the health and well-being of every resident of our state.

To address the crisis, I worked to pass emergency funding in Congress to make sure we have resources available for those who need them. I have organized calls with state and local officials, as well as our local medical providers, to hear about COVID-19 preparations in our community. In addition, I have expressed concern about the testing capacity and am pushing to make tests more readily available for all.

A few reminders to keep you and your loved ones healthy:

  1. Wash your hands frequently
  2. Disinfect surfaces around your home and work environment
  3. Remember to cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough

If we all do our part, we can slow the spread of the virus to ensure our health system can handle the influx at any given time. Thank you for your cooperation.

If you or your family has questions about coronavirus, you can go to the Centers for Disease Control COVID-19 website or call New Jersey’s COVID-19 hotline at 1-800-222-1222.

Be well,

Mikie Sherrill
