Friend, there's no way to sugarcoat this: The latest polls out of Ohio have me neck and neck with my GOP opponents. It's a toss-up, and if we lose here, Democrats are virtually guaranteed to lose the Senate.

Even more worrisome, my ultra-wealthy opponents are already spending a fortune to tip the scales. One of them just launched a $2 million TV ad buy all across Ohio – and there's a lot more where that came from.

That's why, ahead of my critical end-of-month deadline, I have to ask: Please, will you chip in $5 or more right now to help me fight back against GOP attacks, win in Ohio, and defend the Senate?

Unlike my opponents, I don't have millions of my own money to spend on this race. Also unlike my opponents, I've spent my life in public service fighting for the Dignity of Work and fighting to stop big corporations from ripping off workers to boost their profits.  I'm running for reelection to keep up this fight, but I can't do it without you, friend.

My grassroots campaign is made up of folks like you chipping in whatever you can, whenever you can. Our average donation is just $26, a number I'm incredibly proud of. I know it might not seem like much when we're up against guys who can write their campaigns million-dollar checks – but that's the power of our grassroots movement.
