2023 has been a historic year for AGREE, inside and out.
Our Alliance for a A Green Economy team grew from 6 staff to 12, across multiple departments. We hired our first ever Public Advocate and Communications Director, and staffed up our new Regional Clean Energy Hub team.
Why?
To keep doing everything we do, with the support needed to go even further in our work.
Intervening in rate cases to push back on unjust utility bill hikes across the state, from Brooklyn to Buffalo.
Passing the historic, nation leading All Electric Buildings Act through our work with the Renewable Heat Now campaign.
Passing the historic, nation leading Build Public Renewables Act, through our work with the Public Power New York coalition.
Passing the Utility Thermal Energy Networks and Jobs Act, through partnerships with organized labor.
And expanding our HeatsmartCNY Campaign into its newest, biggest stage yet: EnergySmartCNY, a one stop shop providing all the info, resources, and assistance our neighbors and communities need to bring clean, efficient, and affordable energy into our homes.
Yes! And together, the growing AGREE team is taking on an ever-growing slate of vital organizing, advocacy, and outreach activities.
As we keep connecting the highest level policy makers to the grassroots, on-the-ground experts, we’re working to build a sustainable, small donor funding program to match it.
When you become an AGREE donor, you’re helping ensure we can stay independent and do the work we need to do. Last year we raised over $5000 dollars, and with double the AGREE, we're aiming for double.
It may seem like a lot, but truly, whether it's 50 dollars, 10 dollars, 1 dollar, or just taking action with us when you get our e-blasts and action notices – every bit of support you give is vital! 🙏
So this Giving Tuesday (night), we'd be honored if you help us build the kind of green economy, and bright future, in which we and our communities thrive.
