John,
For years, the Biden Administration’s ability to end the reign of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has been stymied by the presence on the USPS Board of Governors of two Trump appointees (Donald Moak and William Zollar), who support DeJoy’s planned destruction and privatization of the Post Office.
Two public servants who would bring critical perspectives and expertise to the USPS Board of Governors have been identified by the Save the Post Office Coalition: former Rep. Brenda Lawrence and policy expert Sarah Anderson.
Tell Biden to save the U.S. Post Office by nominating Rep. Brenda Lawrence and Sarah Anderson to the USPS Board of Governors today!
Rep. Brenda Lawrence has 30 years of experience working as a USPS employee before serving in Congress, where she consistently defended the postal service against attempts at privatization. She is the only Congressmember who belongs to both the American Postal Workers Union and the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Sarah Anderson comes from a family of letter carriers and has written much on economic and financial issues, including those related to the US Postal Service.
Both Brenda Lawrence and Sarah Anderson will bring strong, diverse, reform-oriented views to the Board of Governors, to hold the Postmaster General to the true public mission and service goals of the Postal Service.
The Postal Service of the future will require leaders who bring creativity and enthusiasm, to create new opportunities instead of cutting service and raising prices. We need new ideas to expand services and bring in new revenue, such as postal banking and other products.
Sign the petition now and tell Biden to nominate two excellent governors to the USPS Board!
Thank you for helping to bring the USPS into the future!
