Dear Friend,

Giving Tuesday is about contributing to the causes that matter most to you. And for me, the fight for better drug policy could not be more important — or more urgent.

Think about it. Every night, hundreds of thousands of people sleep on a prison bed, separated from their families and communities, because of this disastrous drug war.

Together, we can begin to repair these harms. But undoing 50 years of damage won’t happen overnight. And we’re facing opponents who are determined to stop our progress.

Friend, join DPA before midnight tonight to double your impact on this critical work. We need advocates like you to take the next step and join this fight — and today your gift will be matched up to $15,000!

For over 20 years, DPA has proven that real change is possible when it comes to drug policy. But the truth is that many of our biggest victories are under threat.

In Oregon, for example, opportunistic politicians and talking heads are desperate to paint the state’s groundbreaking Measure 110 decriminalization as a failure and are using it as a scapegoat for the social issues that communities deserve real solutions for. While they point fingers, we are committed to making lasting change our communities need. Measure 110 is doing its part by addressing addiction with a health approach.

Here’s the reality: Thousands of Oregonians have received treatment, the state has saved tens of millions of dollars in criminal justice costs, and hundreds of millions of dollars have gone to supporting outreach, peer mentors, recovery, housing, needle exchanges, and other harm reduction and addiction services.

This funding should continue supporting communities, not more criminalization and punishment. But if our opponents win, progress like Measure 110 could be rolled back and become harder to achieve.

Please help fight for more just and equitable drug policy by joining DPA before midnight tonight! Every dollar you give will make twice the impact to help us reach our Giving Tuesday goal.
