Year after year, our communities face increasingly devastating climate disasters — from deadly heatwaves in Phoenix to storms flooding Vermont and smoke-filled air in the Midwest and Northeast from Canadian wildfires. Meanwhile, the U.S. is on track to produce more fossil fuels than ever because some of our elected officials put gas and oil profiteers before the people they serve. The climate investments we won over the past few years will only get us so far if we don’t continue mobilizing for climate action that meets the scale of the crises we’re facing. 

That’s why we're launching our National Campaign next Tuesday to demand President Biden declare a Climate Emergency — the next step in the fight for a livable future. We need Biden to use his presidential powers to lead a full-scale mobilization against the climate crisis. Declaring a climate emergency isn’t just symbolic. It means providing checks and free housing to climate disaster victims, redirecting funds to make our infrastructure resilient to extreme weather, halting new fossil fuel developments, and more.
