With the recent uptick of hate in the country, our work has become all the more important. Just a few weeks ago, the FBI released its latest hate crime report, which documented the highest number of hate crimes recorded since the agency began collecting data. Newly implemented laws disenfranchise large swaths of voters, especially in Black communities and low-income areas. Additionally, states continue enacting laws that restrict inclusive education. But there is hope. At the SPLC, we’ve worked tirelessly to counteract the threats to our democracy. Some of our work in 2023 includes: We cannot let hate and extremism be the order of the day. Your help will give us the tools needed to fend off white supremacist tactics and promote sensible policies that make education inclusive, expand voting rights, dismantle white supremacy and uphold democracy.
