In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Marie-Claire spent an hour each day for 20 years fetching water that wasn’t reliably safe to drink. Then, Mercy Corps installed a water system that filters water from a nearby spring. The new system is life-changing: it now takes Marie-Claire 5 minutes to fetch water and she no longer worries if it will make her children sick. |
