I made a personal commitment to address hunger issues in 2007, when I founded a walking club in the Mississippi Delta. Our mission was simple: mentor and inspire young girls to lead healthier lives. Little did I know the profound impact this endeavor would have on me.
On a sweltering day, after our walk, I offered the girls snacks — bottles of water, Jell-O, and bananas. These were the best options I could provide. You see, this was a self-funded project, and the nearest grocery store was over 30 miles away. That’s when I learned that some of the girls hadn’t eaten since earlier that day. It was after 6:00 p.m.
I was speechless and had to hold back my tears. Since that day, I’ve been devoted to helping kids get meals — but I can’t do it alone.
We need your help to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry. Your support can make a world of difference, especially when it’s doubled by Citi!
Please make a donation to No Kid Hungry today. Your generosity will help create a brighter future for children across the country.
Thank you for being part of our mission to end childhood hunger.
With gratitude,
