Dear Friend,
My name is Joyce. I was born in Africa more than 40 years ago. When I was just a cub, my herd was slaughtered before my eyes. My friend, Mundi, and I were among a handful of elephants who survived. At the time, I thought we were lucky. I was wrong.
Mundi and I were separated. After being sold again and again, she was sent to a zoo in Puerto Rico where she spent almost her entire life in a small enclosure performing tricks for tourists. I also only lived a life of sadness and turmoil, working in the circus and other traveling shows.
With the help of generous friends like you, World Animal Protection helped support Mundi’s rescue. Today she is living a quiet and peaceful life at Elephant Refuge North America. She is free to roam and enjoy fresh air, she can play with other elephants and bask in the sun.
Mundi is free, but what about me?
Friend, today is Giving Tuesday, and your gift to World Animal Protection will TRIPLE in impact to help rescue, save, and protect more vulnerable animals like Mundi and me from a lifetime of cruelty and exploitation.
