Today is the big day: #GivingTuesday!
CDT is fighting daily to ensure technology works for people – promoting responsible innovation that protects people’s rights. In the U.S., EU and globally, we’re advising policymakers, developing company best practices, and helping the press and public understand the human values at stake in technology policy and design. CDT’s accomplishments in 2023 include:
|
- Launching our new AI Governance Lab and leading calls for a whole-of-government approach to ensure responsible AI innovation,
- Partnering with the National Network to End Domestic Violence to reduce the misuse of Bluetooth location trackers for stalking and harassment,
- Coordinating civil society engagement on key EU files such as the Digital Services Act and AI Act,
- Pushing policymakers to reform government surveillance practices,
- Publishing vital research on the current limitations of large language models in non-English contexts, how young people experience unwanted online content, schools’ use of surveillance technology, and more.

Support from donors like you is essential to this work.
This #GivingTuesday, CDT’s aim is simple: to increase our support from individual donors. We are proud that about 50% of our funds come from foundations, yet we recognize that our sustained growth will depend on individuals like you. Will you join this international day of giving and contribute to CDT today?
With any amount that is meaningful to you, we can accelerate our efforts to put democracy and human rights at the center of the digital age.
Sincerely,
Alexandra Reeve Givens
