Southern California Hospitality workers have been walking picket lines for months as part of the largest industry-wide hotel strike in modern history [[link removed]] . In Long Beach, LAANE’s Long Beach for a Just Economy campaign is working in partnership with UNITE HERE Local 11 on a historic ballot measure to raise the wage for hospitality workers [[link removed]] at large hotels of 100 rooms or more. When we win in March 2024, hotel workers will earn $23/hour by July 2024 , with an escalator to $29.50/hr by the 2028 Olympics.
Hospitality workers need your support. This Giving Tuesday, help us launch a field campaign to knock on doors and convince Long Beach voters to VOTE YES to raise the wage for hospitality workers!

We’ve stood with hospitality workers on the picket lines and through the legislative process. At Long Beach City Hall committee meetings and hearings, workers have shared their stories of living paycheck-to-paycheck and struggling to afford to live where they work.
We’ve engaged members of the community and small businesses through our Tourism Workers Rising Long Beach campaign. 160 small businesses signed on to support the Tourism Workers Rising ballot measure and 60 community organizations have officially endorsed our campaign for fair and competitive wages for hospitality workers.
But this is only the beginning. Your financial contribution will help us launch a field campaign to pass the Tourism Workers Rising ballot measure and bring justice to workers fighting for fair wages and dignity and respect on the job.
