Friend,
There’s no denying that this past year was steeped in challenges.
Access to asylum was further restricted by federal decision-makers. At the state level, legislatures in places like Florida and Texas continued to wage their racist campaigns against black and brown families and children through several restrictive, punitive, and outright anti-immigrant laws.
But, with your support, we continued to stand against hate. Thanks to you, we: - Provided 1,586 children in federal detention with the accompaniment and support of Child Advocates.
- Offered 20,668 services, ranging from ongoing case advocacy to community support.
-
Conducted 16 trainings nationally, bringing 289 new Volunteer Child Advocates to work with unaccompanied and separated immigrant children in government custody.
- Engaged with stakeholders working with immigrant youth caught in the child welfare system 96 times; 45 of these engagements were with reunifying families separated under Trump’s Zero Tolerance policy.
-
Supported children in 17 states who arrived here from more than 48 countries around the globe.
These aren’t just empty ciphers. To us, every number is a story. And each story is of a child, dreaming and hoping for a better life, for themselves and their family. Your contributions are helping them and us shape a brighter tomorrow, where hate has no home. |
Thank you, AJ Albinak Interim Development Director |
