Unlock $200,000; Protect Threatened Birds; 125 Donors Needed
We're about halfway through Giving Tuesday—and we’re still looking for 125 bird lovers to start a monthly gift and help unlock an additional $200,000. For birds like the Allen’s Hummingbird, whose population declined by a staggering 80% from 1968 to 2019 according to the North American Breeding Bird Survey, the months and years ahead are critical. We must soar to their defense now.

Urgent: Bird Extinction Crisis; Allen's Hummingbird

Clock Graphic; Giving Challenge: Time is running out!
Soar to birds’ defense this Giving Tuesday

Wildfires are incinerating their habitat—and repeated burns don’t allow for any recovery. Spring heat waves threaten young chicks in their nests. Urbanization is demolishing their native habitat. The Allen’s Hummingbird is facing multiple threats from climate change that could lead to their extinction—just like 388 other North American bird species including the Golden-cheeked Warbler. We can’t let that happen.

For the sake of all birds, please join us by becoming one of the 1,000 monthly donors needed during our giving challenge. Thanks to a group of generous donors, your monthly gift will help secure an additional $200,000 for birds in need—but only until midnight tonight!
Half of all bird species are in decline.
We’re responding to the urgent climate and extinction crises with our proven combination of rigorous research, focused advocacy, and expert on-the-ground conservation. From advancing transformational policies that reduce carbon emissions and support well-sited green energy to leading adaptive land management practices that will mitigate the impact of sea level rise and climate change, we know how to build a safer future for the birds we love.
