Having worked closely with my Iranian-American constituents since I was first elected to Congress in 2017, I know these are difficult times.
But I wanted to share some positive news: moments ago, we passed legislation blocking the President from starting a war with Iran . Now, we will finally send a bipartisan bill to the President’s desk that makes clear he is NOT going to start a war on our watch.
This has been a major priority for myself, NIAC Action, and pro-peace Americans across the country ever since President Trump first started rattling sabers against Iran. Thanks to the efforts of NIAC Action members and supporters like yourself, we got it done.
[[link removed]] Whether it is stopping a war against Iran or ending U.S. support for Saudi Arabia's devastating war in Yemen, our times demand real foreign policy leadership from Congress.
NIAC Action is essential to this process -- from their work organizing the Iranian-American grassroots community, to advocating directly in the halls of Congress, to building support for pro-peace candidates.
I am proud to stand alongside NIAC Action and the Iranian-American community striving for peace. I am grateful that you have the backs of endorsees like myself who are unafraid to buck the failed foreign policy status quo, and I look forward to continuing to work with you to build a brighter, more peaceful future.
