Dear John,
Today is Giving Tuesday, and it couldn’t come at a better time, because the team here at Inequality Media is doing some of the most effective work I’ve ever seen — and every dollar we raise today will allow us to go even bigger.
Let me back up and explain the basics of how we work. Every day, the team at Inequality Media is dreaming up new videos and testing to see which ones are most effective at changing people’s minds. Public opinion experts tell us that with that it's a success if our videos increase support for our position by two to three points. Five points is outstanding.
But our latest series of videos are moving people by 12 to 18 points!
And we’re not just preaching to the choir. In fact, these videos are proving effective with every category, including rural and urban, conservative and progressive, younger and older… you name it.
Now here’s why Giving Tuesday is so key. As a grassroots organization, we rely on donations to power everything we do, and Giving Tuesday is one of the most important fundraising days of the year.
So today I’m making a personal request: Will you make a tax-deductible Giving Tuesday donation to help power Inequality Media and get these videos in front of as many people as possible?
I co-founded Inequality Media 9 years ago to help educate the public about economic issues that the corporate media either covers poorly or not at all, and I couldn't be more proud of how far we’ve come.
For instance, not long ago, we had hardly any presence at all on TikTok (and neither did anyone else in the progressive movement). But we’re now approaching 700,000 followers, and we’ve gotten more than 13.4 million video views this year alone. Even more exciting is that 60% of those video views have come from 18- to 24-year-olds!
But to keep growing and meet our goals, we rely on the donations of everyday people — and Giving Tuesday is one of the most important fundraising days of the year.
Will you make a donation to Inequality Media this Giving Tuesday? I give you my personal promise that your money will be well spent.
Thank you for helping get the truth out,
Robert Reich
