John,
This Giving Tuesday, I hope you’ll join me in supporting a community-based nonprofit focused on providing residents with the opportunity to revitalize their neighborhoods.
Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance provides local youth with leadership development and community service opportunities as well as work-readiness training.
The group engages Detroit residents of all ages in essential neighborhood development and decision-making, with a focus on keeping residents in their homes, supporting caregivers, and youth programing.
Their services include:
-
supporting seniors’ physical, mental, and social health
-
visiting every occupied residence in 7 defined neighborhoods via in-person, door to door canvassing
-
Thanksgiving baskets for 250 homes each year
-
entrepreneur training programs
-
helping residents with tax exemption grant applications
-
assisting people with 0% interest home loan repairs
-
and funding for students including school supplies, field trips, and workshops
Join me in supporting Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance this Giving Tuesday. Let's support a vital nonprofit organization that is truly rooted in community.
Because Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance is rooted in community, its leaders, volunteers, and board members are all neighborhood residents, convening regular community meetings and community planning sessions.
The Cody Rouge community has the second highest population of children between ages 0 and 18 in the city of Detroit, and has a Youth Council led by youth-community advocates.
Support Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance this Giving Tuesday and help ensure that all children and residents have access to resources that promote safety and a high quality of life.
Thank you for joining me in supporting this critical nonprofit that is rooted in community.
- Rashida
