Keeping food on the table has been tremendously challenging for many this year as pandemic-related relief ended despite ongoing economic turmoil, and 30% of Philadelphians report having fewer dollars for groceries.

At the Coalition Against Hunger, we increase access to food resources by submitting SNAP (food stamp) applications on behalf of clients, disseminating resource and policy information  through our referral partner network, supporting local volunteer-run food programs, and maintaining both a Pantry Map and Summer Meals Map on our website.

Over the last year we:

• Received 19,000+ calls from clients for assistance with SNAP (food stamp) benefits and help finding the nearest food pantry
• Cultivated 7 new partnerships with trusted community organizations serving Spanish speaking immigrant communities as a part of our work to reduce barriers for historically underserved communities
• Doubled the number of Philadelphia kids we were able to connect with free summer meals
