Dear Patriot, | The CBS newsmagazine program 60 Minutes has aired a report about conservative constitutional legal scholar John Eastman that one knowledgeable expert who has closely followed the issues called a total hit job as expected. Disgusting how vile the MSM has become. Truer words were never uttered. The 60 Minutes report even included an allegation that John Eastman, a giant of the legal profession and a man of deep personal faith, was a serpent in the ear of the president. How vile. And yet, despite their attempt to portray him as unprincipled and uninformed about the role of the Vice President in the certification of electoral votes, the 60 Minutes Report backfired. Dr. Eastman appeared in the report to defend his reputation and representation of President Trump and showed himself to be a man of integrity and high intellect whose legal arguments were thoroughly grounded in careful research into the constitution and law on the role of the Vice President in certifying election results. Please stand with Dr. John Eastman now in response to this vile attack by CBS and their 60 Minutes program. | | | | The timing of the 60 Minutes hit job is no coincidence. Formal testimony in the California State Bar trial of Dr Eastman concluded right before the report and the judge will likely issue her ruling whether to disbar Dr. Eastman later this month. The 60 Minutes report alleged the oft-repeated talking point put forth by radical lawfare groups and California State Bar prosecutors that there was no evidence of illegality or fraud in the 2020 election. They are counting are on the fact that few people are following the disbarment trial in California and thus are not aware of the substantial evidence that Dr. Eastman's legal team has introduced to demonstrate widespread illegalities and fraud. Rachel Alexander, a reporter for the Arizona Sun Times, is very familiar with this evidence because she has watched the trial against Dr. Eastman for weeks, issuing live reports daily via X (formerly Twitter) and producing detailed articles online. She said of the 60 Minutes reporting, None of these #FakeNews hack journalists' bothered to watch the entire trial so it's full of false and contradictory information. Help John Eastman fight back against the attacks by hack journalists and leftwing lawfare groups by donating to his legal defense fund. He is facing legal bills in excess of $1 million and URGENTLY he needs our help to prevail. | | | | Your donation of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500 or $1,000 or more will make a big difference. If you have been blessed with significant resources, perhaps you might be able to give a more substantial gift of $2,500 or even $5,000. Whatever you are able to give will go to helping this giant of the conservative legal movement defend himself and reclaim his reputation. Dr. Eastman's legal team has introduced evidence from experts in multiple states Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, etc. about illegalities and potential fraud that may well have changed the outcome of the election. The 60 Minutes report did not bother to mention this evidence. But 60 Minutes did focus on a particular attack leveled by former Vice President Mike Pence's staff which alleged that Dr. Eastman essentially invented a legal theory about the role of the Vice President in certifying the election and that he stuck with this theory even after people breached the Capitol while Pence was opening up the certifications from states. This, the Pence staffer said, showed that Eastman was mostly concerned with the results and didn't really care how many laws had to be broken to get there. | | | | The trouble for 60 Minutes and the left is that this vile allegation about Dr. Eastman that he didn't care how many laws had to be broken to advance his legal theory about the role of the Vice President flies in the face of the evidence that has been presented in the California court. There, a noted constitutional expert, John Yoo, who has studied these issues carefully and written extensively about them testified that the majority of legal scholarship on the role of the Vice President agreed with Dr. Eastman's position. Incidentally, John Yoo was consulted by Vice President Pence as he considered the issues. No mention of Yoo's testimony was made in the 60 Minutes report. As I mentioned, Dr. Eastman did an outstanding job in defending himself in the 60 Minutes piece and refused to let them get away with their portrayal of him as some kind of rogue extremist. Indeed, somewhat surprisingly, 60 Minutes ended their attempted hit job asking who is the John Eastman we see in the mug shot following his arrest in Georgia. His thoughtful answer is a reflection of his character and his commitment to fight: | | | The John Eastman you see in that mug shot is one who remains astounded that we have so corrupted our criminal law that this is even brought. I hope in the fullness of time we get our act together and understand this is a bridge too far in our criminalization of the law and our criminalization of our political opposition. | | | John Eastman urgently needs our help to fight back against leftwing lawfare and biased media. Please do what you can today to help. | | | | | | Sincerely, | | Brian S, Brown Friend of John Eastman and supporter of the John Eastman Legal Defense Fund | | | | |
