Help Support CEP’s Work To Hold Qatar Accountable For Harboring Terrorist Leaders |
The Counter Extremism Project (CEP) is in the midst of an international campaign calling for an asset freeze and for various entities – including major lobbying firms, law firms, luxury hotels, commercial real estate ventures, and the National Basketball Association (NBA) – to economically isolate and punish Qatar for its role in supporting Hamas with upwards of half a billion dollars in annual financial support, harboring its leadership, and enabling the October 7 massacre in Israel. While providing this support, Qatar continues to enjoy massive holdings in the U.S. and Europe and particularly the UK, where the country owns more land than King Charles III. CEP has launched the Qatar Asset Freeze Coalition to expose the deep ties between Hamas, Qatar, and the Al Thani Royal Family. The campaign builds on CEP’s HARBORS Campaign, launched in 2017, which has sought to pressure Doha to arrest, expel, or otherwise cut off support for sanction-designated or wanted individuals representing Hamas, the Taliban, al-Qaeda, the Nusra Front, and the Muslim Brotherhood. |
Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani meets with Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh and his predecessor, Khaled Mashal, in 2016. As part of its broader effort to hold Qatar accountable, CEP has called for the freezing of assets by relevant entities in order to prevent money from flowing to Qatar to support its ongoing harboring of terrorist leaders. CEP has consistently demanded these asset freezes and economic isolation until and unless Qatar and the Al Thani royal family immediately detain Ismail Haniyeh, the chairman of Hamas’ Political Bureau based in Doha, and other Hamas leaders in Qatar. CEP’s campaign has been highlighted by numerous international publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and The Telegraph. CEP relies on your donations to continue this important campaign. Your support helps us hold Qatar and its leadership accountable for its role in terror financing and harboring terrorist leaders. |
