"How can we bring our country back together?"
I get this question a lot on the campaign trail as I meet with voters in our neighborhoods.
It breaks my heart every time I hear it. It breaks my heart that our country is being torn apart by policy and messaging that is meant to divide us, it is by design.
The only way we can heal is with leadership who doesn't put party before all else.
I am a proud Democrat, the party represents my values, but I am not beholden to the party. I will always be beholden *only* to the Americans I represent ... all of them.
We must cross the aisle, we must form coalitions grounded in our love of family, community and country. We have common ground, and I am honored to be unifying our district around this common ground.
I recently received this note, a citizen endorsement that speaks to the type of representative I will be.
