Dear John,
My name is Bijan Nekoie and I am a volunteer leader for NIAC – one of hundreds of Iranian Americans and allies across the country who make up NIAC's grassroots chapters.
In addition to volunteering my time to organize meetings with lawmakers, host community events, and run phonebanks to register Iranian American voters, I just made my donation to NIAC so they can hit their Giving Tuesday goal. Here's why I believe you should too.
No other Iranian-American organization fights for you like NIAC. NIAC stands as the only Iranian-American organization tirelessly working for our community's rights no matter the political pressures or heat of the moment.
They're at the forefront of advocating for policies that support our families here, our loved ones abroad, and that reflect our basic values and principles. They’ve remained an outspoken leader for peace and diplomacy, supporting the current calls for a ceasefire amid the ongoing conflict in Palestine and Israel as well as de-escalation from a broader, regional war.
I want to be able to visit family in Iran and NIAC is the only group leading the challenge against the proposed travel ban to Iran. They’re also leading the fight against anti-immigrant property ownership restrictions, and other civil rights issues, like discriminatory bank account closures.
NIAC is a true grassroots organization. NIAC’s model empowers Iranian Americans, like me, to build power for my community and to have a seat at the table with decision makers. Every time volunteers and folks like you decide to take action, we help maintain NIAC’s commitment to elevating the Iranian American pro-peace, pro-justice political voice… at a time when our community desperately needs one.
But… NIAC is a non-profit that relies on ordinary people for support. If you’re going to donate to any group today, donate to NIAC so they can scale their work and keep giving us a voice in the halls of power. If everyone who reads this email contributes, we can easily reach this target, furthering our movement for peace and civil rights. Our fundraising goal for today is $10,000.

Let's hit this $10k Giving Tuesday goal together. Thank you for being a part of our community and have a wonderful holiday season.
Warmly,
