Today is Giving Tuesday and we’re writing to you asking for a donation. As you know, Adhikaar is a women-led community and workers’ center and we provide direct services to Nepali-speaking communities from Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, Burma, and India and organize our community members to advocate for change. Every day, we rise to meet the urgent needs of our community while building the collective power and leadership of our members to fight for workers’ rights, immigrant rights, healthcare access, and language justice. Our work wouldn’t be possible without support from our allies and community. Your generous support has also helped bring a positive transformation. We have achieved incredible success over the years. Some recent wins include advancing adult literacy through basic and industry- focused English For Empowerment, advocating for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Nepal and other countries, and supporting thousands of members day-to-day at our community center in Queens, NY. We have developed thousands of Nepali-speaking leaders from the community that are organizing and driving systemic change through cross cultural solidarity and coalition efforts.
